Book Review: A Zoom with a View

Leo is back in her weird small town in Texas, because academia hasn’t panned out for her. After years of education, her mom helps her get a job as a photographer, but there’s one catch—she has to return to her hometown of Blue Oak, Texas, and she really doesn’t want to.

Leo doesn’t even have time to adjust to being “home” when she “sees” more than she planned for and accidentally becomes a reluctant amateur sleuth, with her bestie Emily by her side to help her solve this cozy murder mystery.

My Thoughts

This novel has a little bit of everything: mystery, a quirky small-town setting, social media satire, and two best friends, Leo and Emily, who work together to solve the mystery before they are implicated themselves. And there might just be some romance afoot, too.

A Zoom with a View is a humorous, lighthearted, cozy murder mystery for those who love mysteries and even small town romances. I think fans of the Pomona Afton or Finlay Donovan series will enjoy A Zoom with a View by Jess Cannon.

Thank you to Dutton and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
