Book Review: This Book Made Me Think of You
This Book Made Me Think of You will be released on Feb 3, 2026 in the United States.
This book is hard to write a review for because I loved it so much, I can barely put it into words. I know it will be one of my favorite books of 2026. This Book Made Me Think of You by Libby Page feels like one of those books that was written just for me, and I think many readers will feel the same way.
The novel is about falling in love with reading again at a time when you need it the most. I related to the main character Tilly Nightingale a lot. There have been times in my life when my greatest love and hobby of reading felt impossible due to grief or depression, but we all need to find our joy again, and there is no joy quite like book joy.
At the beginning of the novel, Tilly receives a phone call. Her birthday is coming and she is not in the mood to celebrate. The person on the phone is Alfie, who owns a local bookshop, and he has a surprise for her. A birthday gift from her late husband Joe: one book per month for the next year. I won’t mention much more about the plot, but I enjoyed hearing about each book, because I was reminded of some of my favorite books from the past.
Each book impacted Tilly at different points in her life over the course of the year. The books inspired her in so many ways, from going on adventures to trying new hobbies to falling in love with reading again.
While This Book Made Me Think of You is not purely a romance, there are romantic elements, including falling in love with your life again and a romantic subplot. The central journey of the story is about Tilly overcoming her grief and learning to truly live her life again. While the book has sad aspects and deals with the grieving process, it is not primarily sad, because overall, it is very hopeful and life-affirming.
Thank you to Berkley and Netgalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I was very happy to get approved to read this book as an ARC, because I enjoyed the her debut novel, The Lido by Libby Page, and I recommend this novel as well.
