Short Story Review: Famous Once
Famous Once by Jane Green is an Amazon Originals short story.
Astrid Lane was once a model and married to a famous rock star. Her long-buried memories rise to the surface when her estranged daughter Zara shares a podcast with her, about their rock and roll past. Astrid is living a quiet life as a caterer in a cute little cottage and she is not sure that she wants to revisit what she feels is best left alone.
I was not sure what to expect, but this short story ended up having hints of mystery while also being a mother-daughter story. It has some mystery to help with the pacing and character development and was ultimately a satisfying read.
This short story can be read in about 30 minutes, but a lot was packed into a small space, and I felt like I got to know the main characters fairly well. It is a short story, so you are not going to get the depth that you would in a novel.
If you are a fan of Jane Green or books like Daisy Jones and the Six, I think you will enjoy Famous Once.
Thank you to Amazon and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
