When They Find Me
By Carter Wilson
When They Find Me is a propulsive thriller set in a snowed-in, remote town in Colorado mountains where everyone has secrets and a past life they don’t want to share. It is just as fast-paced and satisfying to read as other thrillers by Carter Wilson.
Annie and her young daughter live in a remote town in Colorado, hiding from the events in the past. Her husband went too far in his quest to get rich with a criminal family, and Annie exacted her revenge and the man responsible for her husband’s death. For years, she has been waiting for her past to come knocking. That’s why she installed a safe room in her house and is trained to use her many firearms.
What she doesn’t expect? When the home invaders come to her house right before Christmas, they have the wrong house. And a blizzard is coming. They are looking for a man named Richard. A dangerous father who calls himself Coyote has brainwashed his two adult children and they think they are part of a “pack,” more animal than human.
This tense thriller is told from more than one perspective, including Riven, the daughter of Coyote, who it seems wants to break free from her father and who wants to help Annie survive this high-stakes day. Readers also learn more about Annie’s past through flashback scenes. And there are several shocking twists at the end. This book has mystery, violence, and tragedy and you will read it VERY quickly.
