Book Review: This Will Be Interesting

‍ ‍This Will Be Interesting by E.B. Asher is the lighthearted, entertaining sequel to This Will Be Fun.

‍If you enjoy living in a cozy fantasy world full of love stories, quests, adventures, and even an identity crisis, then you will have a lot of fun reading This Will Be Interesting. Galwell True was kind of dead for awhile, and he has to find a new way of living, one where he is not on a quest and his friends have not left him behind. Meanwhile, his betrothed from ten years ago, Queen Thessia, has fallen in true love and married Hugh.

Adventure Awaits

All is not peaceful for Galwell, because an intrepid assassin, River, has set sights on him, so he might not be resurrected from his past death for long. River’s plans to assassinate Galwell just might be bested by Celine, her childhood crush who is now basically and investigative reporter of the magical world. The book has a humorous voice at times and lots of adventures and hijinks. If you want to escape into a cozy fantasy romance world, this book is for you.

The Life of a Sequel

At the beginning, there are a lot of characters to meet and get to know, and exposition about each of the characters. I read this book without reading the preceding book, This Will Be Fun, and I can say you will probably enjoy and understand This Will Be Interesting much more if you read the first book. It took me awhile to acclimate to all of the characters, their prior adventures and their relationships among the group. With that said, you could still figure it out and enjoy the book! Watch out, you might just find a new character you want to cosplay!

Note: the author E.B. Asher is a pen name for Bridget Morrissey, Emily Wibberley, and Austin Siegemund-Broka.
