Book Review: Libby Lost and Found

Just by browsing the New Release section at my local library, I luckily found the novel Libby Lost and Found by Stephanie Booth and I am so happy I did!

Libby is an author trying to finish her inventive children's series, but she's hiding behind a pseudonym. She is creative and talented but everyone thinks her books are written by a man. She is so desperate for help finishing her book after a scary medical diagnosis that she flies to a quirky town in Colorado to enlist help from Peanut, her books series' #1 superfan!

My Thoughts

This novel was weird and original! I loved Peanut's character. She will remind you about what it means to fall deeply in love with a book, when books felt more important than food as a child because life is too scary or sad and a world of imagination is there waiting for you to dive in and live a more magical, daring life for awhile, a life where kids can be more powerful and fearless than reality!

Life-Affirming

Often, when you hear a book is life- affirming, you might think, oh no, is it corny, cheesy, etc.? But Libby Lost and Found was LIFE-AFFIRMING and ultimately hopeful. The novel had the offbeat vibes and a lovable, precocious kid--Peanut-- that reminded me of the vibes of the film Little Miss Sunshine (but with a totally different plot obviously).

If you want to read a story that warms your heart, about friendship, creativity, love, and grief, you should come along for the ride and read Libby Lost and Found by Stephanie Booth.

Part of the book is set in Colorado and there’s a ghost town too
